Q: Hello. As the quarter nears an end, I am starting to feel worn out with school work, especially with catching up on previous assignments. I know that practicing mindfulness is exceptionally important in times of stress, however, I don’t like journaling. What are other ways I can practice mindfulness?

A: Dear reader, there are certainly ways around dealing with stress that don't have to be journaling. I understand that many readers, just like you, may find journaling difficult. Maybe one day, you’ll practice the art of journaling and come to realize what an incredible gift it can be. But today, you can try physical activity which can help with stress. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, which are natural mood boosters. It can help reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. You can explore different types of physical activities. For instance, there's yoga, running, or even dancing. Engaging in these activities can positively impact mental well-being. I hope you found this helpful!

Q: Hey there! Whenever I find the time to sit down and write, I struggle coming up with original ideas. This can be especially stressful, since the most important thing to me is meeting deadlines on assignments. How can I overcome writer’s block and find inspiration when I’m feeling stuck in my creative writing? Do you have any tips and tricks?

A: Sure thing reader! Writer’s block is a common struggle for many writers. Even I struggle with writer’s block. Lucky for you, I have some tips and tricks that I would love to share with you! One tip I highly recommend is to change up your environment. Try writing in a different location or taking a walk to get some fresh air. I find that taking a walk for up to fifteen minutes can get your writer juices flowing. One thing I like to do when I take a walk is to bring a pen or pencil, and a notepad. Scribbling ideas down, as they come to you can be really helpful. To be frank with you, I take down ideas in my notes app. I find that it's easier on the go. Don’t be too hard on yourself, inspiration will come! Be sure to continue writing and exploring new ideas. You’ve got this!
